Meet this illusion wall mirror collection – Bower Studio expanded its collection of wall mirrors last year, presenting new designs that look like arcades, porthole windows and arched doorways. This collection will make your house or any room division it is in look bigger since these mirrors allow the creation of illusion and depth in a three dimensional way.
Among the releases, New York company Bower Studio named its new mirrors Orca, Egg, Arcade, Capsule, Quarter, Full Quarter and Slim Archway. The seven designs were released close to the 2018 edition of NYCxDesign festival.
The desired effect is to perpetuate the idea of three dimensions that has the name of trompe l’oeil in the visual arts.
Like in this illusion wall mirror, the Orca uses a crescent moon-like black glass in one of the sides of the mirror, creating the illusion of depth. The same effect happens in the archway wall mirror that uses two tints of glass to create a similar illusion.
“Each decorative, functional mirror is intended to add dimension and texture to any space,” said the Brooklyn-based company in a statement regarding the illusion wall mirror collection.
The mirrors can be customized in a variety of coloured and antiqued tints for the glass, making it adjustable for your interior design and decoration.
Previously, the studio teamed up with Hollywood actor Seth Rogen to create a mirror that looks like a beach ball. The also had a mirror’s 3D effect that came from the colourful gradations hand-painted behind the curved pieces of the illusion wall mirror which created a psychedelic feel.
You can see in a New York shop one of the bigger mirrors made by Bower Studios since December last year. At Greenpoint, the 2,000-square-foot space provides a large appointment-only location showroom and a studio for the design and operations of the women’s shoe label. Not only it extends the previous collection, but it also proves the illusion wall mirrors by Bower Studios really do indeed extend the space of a room.
