The Atlas Mirror design was the result of an exciting collaboration between celebrated actor, Seth Rogen and design brand, Bower Studios. The mirror first debuted in the Sight Unseen Offsite exhibition, “Field Studies” last may, where co-founders Jill Singer and Monica Khemsurov paired 13 furniture and interior designers with creatives from the food, music, fashion, film and art industries that also have a keen eye for design. Today, Wall Mirrors will talk about the phenomenal characteristics and design of this unique wall mirror design.

One of the most impressive partnerships was the one involving Brooklyn design studio, Bower who came together with Rogen to create the Atlas mirror, a globe-like piece that was inspired by vibrant colors in street art as well as 80’s pop culture (take, for example, airbrushed hypercolor t-shirts).
Besides all of these inspirations, Seth Rogen also was inspired by some of his favorite movies, such as Back to the Future and The Shining, resulting in the color-gradient Op Art-inspired mirror you see before you.
The mirror’s 3D effect comes from the colorful gradations hand-painted behind the curved pieces of mirror which create a psychedelic feel, especially when viewing your own broken reflection.
