Today, Wall Mirrors is introducing one particular design events that aim to elevate design, traditional arts and craftsmanship, all of which are a must in the making of mirrors. From 20-21 June 2018, Oporto will host the Luxury Design and Craftsmanship Summit 2018, sponsored by Covet Group. This gathering will unite some of the best creative minds, designers, makers and luxury brands in the industry to discuss what’s next in the luxury design world.

This event will bring you a new perspective, and the most innovative practices of the luxury and design industries as the major players in the growth and elevation of Craftsmanship.
The opening event will be at Pavilhão Multiusos de Gondomar, which was designed by Pritzker Winner, Architect Álvaro Siza Vieira. Gondomar becomes the perfect stage to celebrate the 1st Edition of this Luxury Design & Craftsmanship Summit, because is a city that is all about love and devotion to craftsmanship, especially with the production of filigree.
The summit will present an incredible line-up of renowned speakers, including Michaelangelo Foundation, an international non-profit entity that celebrates and preserves master craftsmanship; Fundação Ricardo Espírito Santo Silva, a foundation created with the objective of protecting and disseminating the Portuguese Decorative Arts and handicrafts; Luís Onofre, designer of luxury shoes and accessories; Vista Alegre, the oldest porcelain factory in the Iberian Peninsula; Topázio, a Portuguese company with more than 140 years of history and an expert in hand-carved silver designs; and finally, Boca do Lobo, Portuguese brand of furniture-art design recognized for its unique and innovative design always hand-worked.
This event is organized in association with the Thinkers & Makers Foundation, whose mission is to celebrate and honor craftsmanship and every single person who creates soulful pieces with their own hands. According to the organization, “A unique new Summit dedicated to exploring the increasingly crucial nexus between luxury and craftsmanship as essential components to inject a new verve into the design world.”
