From February 19th, to June 24th, you’ll get to see the exhibit of one of the most famous Portuguese artists, with a very well known reputation, Joana Vasconcelos. She’s presenting her latest exhibition, I’m Your Mirror, in Portugal, at Serralves Foundation. Wall Mirrors lets you in on the artist’s new exhibition.
Located in Oporto, it’s the Serralves Foundation, one of the most important art foundations in the country, that it’s going to host Joana Vasconcelos’s exhibition – I’m Your Mirror – from February 19th, to June 24th. This prestigious artist is taking over this major foundation with her very well known art installations.
The internationally plastic artist is creating this I’m Your Mirror exhibition, with the curation from Museo Guggenheim Bilbao, with a rich collaboration with Serralves and Kunsthall Rotterdam, that also has a curation from Enrique Juncosa. This exhibition is a celebration of Joana Vasconcelos’s most iconic pieces throughout the years.
To combine all these iconic pieces throughout the 20 years of her artistry, the exhibition happens to concentrate over 30 pieces, some of which are the most famous that she had, such as the Cama Valium, The Bride, and many others that stood out from her artistic journey. There are also new and creative installations such as Finisterra, Solitário and I’ll Be Your Mirror.
To see Joana Vasconcelos’s art installations at Serralves Foundation, you must purchase the ticket which is 12€, or 15€, if you wish to visit the artist’s exhibition, plus taking a walk around the Museum’s garden that is absolutely massive, with the most beautiful landscapes to admire, or even just to be there and absorb all the art.
The Portuguese artist is known for her out-of-the-box and massive art installations that always stands out, no matter where it is. All her artwork has an interesting concept because she mixes a lot of different ideas, cultures, and even clichés. Through her amazing work, there’s a lot of perspective that you can gain on several matters, that are very important in today’s society.
