Today, Wall Mirrors introduces the latest project of the artist, that stands on a mirrored hot air balloon.

Artist and filmmaker Doug Aitken, was the creative mind behind this nomadic art installation – New Horizon. This project sits on the presentation of mirrored hot air balloon that will be displayed around Massachusetts, on Summer 2019. From 12-28 July 2019, this eccentric hot air balloon will participate in several and live events, that promise to really impress every art lover.

This reflective and creative hot air balloon will share a journey throughout the state, generating incredible events such as dialogues and discussions about the changing climate and the evolution of digital identity. Besides those important conversations, there are also presentations by great musicians, where the hot air balloon transforms into a walking light sculpture.

Accordingly to the creative series of events, there will be also sunrise viewings and tethered flight opportunities, as well as performances, events and fundraisers. The New Horizon’s debut will take place on Long Point Beach reservation on Martha’s Vineyard, and Farm Institute in Edgartown, at 12-14 July.

Doug Aitken‘s mirrored hot air balloon that resembles a massive marble, represents the importance of thinking about the future and its sustainable aspects. This project has a lot to do with the Trustees of Reservations, within the nonprofit organization – Art & The Landscape initiative. These organization’s purpose features the preservation of art, and its connection with nature.

New Horizon is ready to be displayed on 14 appearances, at eight different locations in Massachusetts. This American artist and filmmaker has the goal of presenting many art installations through several methods, such as film, architectural and a lot more.
