The event destined to promote European Craftsmanship, Homo Faber finally opened its doors last Friday and is set to go on until the end of the month. The Michelangelo Foundation-organized event is taking place at Fondazione Giorgio Cini and has gathered some of Europe’s brilliant master artisans, designers and creators that are showcasing the beauty, value and meaning of craftsmanship. The Wall Mirrors Blog has come across an exceptional mirror design that is being exhibited at the Best of Europe showcase and now we are going to talk a little bit about it as well as the unique experiences that the event is offering.
Suspended by the ceiling, visitors can find the remarkably crafted Filigree mirror by Boca do Lobo. A mirror that features a structure made from brass cords, gilded in 18k gold. In addition, this piece also has a brass shet that was hand hammered in order to give its concave form.
Filigree is a great representation of the values and artistic sense of Portugal and pays tribute to craftsmanship and heritage. Nevertheless, surrounding this beautiful piece is a wide variety of pieces, from decorative tableware to lighting designs as well as highly crafted accessories and sculptures that truly show the Best of Europe in regards to design and crafts.
Homo Faber offers a series of unique experiences that, at the same time, come together as one. These beautiful ensembles will take you on a journey through Europe’s most diverse regions and talents. It features 4,000 square metres of space where one can have access to innovative installations, designs and live showcases, so don’t miss it for this world.
